Day 1: Northward Bound via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Your wildlife adventure begins as we head north from Entebbe, leaving the Lake Victoria basin for the rugged beauty of northern Uganda. Our first major stop is the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in the country where you can track Southern White Rhinos on foot. Walking alongside these prehistoric giants with expert rangers is an exhilarating and educational experience. After a delicious lunch at the sanctuary, we continue into Murchison Falls National Park. We head straight to the 'Top of the Falls', where the mighty Nile is compressed into a narrow 7-meter gorge before exploding over a 43-meter drop. The roar is deafening, and the permanent rainbow in the mist illustrates the sheer power of the world's longest river.
Day 2: Savannah Big Game & The Victoria Nile Boat Safari
We rise before dawn for an early morning game drive in the northern sector of the park, where the savannah is teeming with life. Under the golden light of sunrise, we look for lions, leopards, and hyenas as they return from their nocturnal hunts. Murchison is home to the world's largest population of Rothschild's giraffes, as well as thousands of elephants, Cape buffalos, and various antelopes. In the afternoon, we board a boat for a three-hour safari up the Nile to the base of the falls. This is a spectacular experience; you'll pass wallowing pods of hippos, massive Nile crocodiles basking on the banks, and herds of elephants and buffalos coming down to drink. The view of the thunderous falls from the water is iconic and unforgettable.
Day 3: Morning at Leisure and Return Drive
Enjoy a final morning in the wilderness, perhaps listening to the exotic calls of the savannah birds from your lodge balcony. After a leisurely breakfast, we begin our journey back south. We'll take a differnet route through the park to maximize our wildlife viewing opportunities before exiting. The drive back offers a chance to reflect on the incredible encounters of the past few days as we pass back through the fertile rural landscapes of Central Uganda. We stop for lunch along the way and arrive in Entebbe or Kampala by early evening. Your guide will transfer you to the airport or your preferred location, concluding a focused and powerful 3-day exploration of Uganda's premier wildlife park.
