Nestled at the foot of Mount Meru, Arusha is the ideal starting point for your journey. After settling into your hotel, take the time to relax and recover from your travels. If time permits, you can explore the town, visit local markets, or enjoy a peaceful walk through nearby coffee plantations. Enjoy a restful night as you prepare for the excitement that lies ahead.
After breakfast, you’ll set out for Tarangire National Park, a less-crowded gem known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. The drive to Tarangire takes about two hours, and you’ll enter the park with anticipation of the wildlife encounters to come. Tarangire’s landscape is dotted with swamps and rivers, providing an ideal habitat for a variety of animals, including buffalo, lions, giraffes, and a plethora of bird species. The park is also home to some of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations, often seen in large family groups. You’ll spend the day on game drives, exploring the park’s diverse ecosystems. Today, after an early breakfast, you’ll journey to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the Great Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with opportunities to stop and take in the breathtaking scenery along the way. As you enter the Serengeti, the vast plains stretch out before you, offering some of the best game viewing in Africa. The Serengeti is known for its abundance of wildlife, including the Big Five, as well as cheetahs, hyenas, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. You’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive en route to your lodge or tented camp in the central Serengeti, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
Today is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti, with morning and afternoon game drives giving you ample opportunities to witness the park’s incredible wildlife. The central Serengeti, particularly the Seronera Valley, is known for its high concentration of predators, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. As you traverse the plains, you may also encounter large herds of elephants, buffaloes, and giraffes. Keep your eyes peeled for leopards lounging in the trees or cheetahs sprinting across the open savannah in pursuit of prey. A picnic lunch in the bush will keep you close to the action, ensuring that you don’t miss a moment of the excitement. After a thrilling day of wildlife viewing, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and relaxation under the stars.

The drive takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with views of rolling hills and Maasai villages. Upon arrival at the crater’s rim, you’ll descend into the caldera, a natural amphitheater that is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including the Big Five. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the best places in Tanzania to spot the critically endangered black rhino, as well as large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. You’ll spend the day exploring the crater floor, enjoying a picnic lunch near a hippo pool.
