Your 1-day Mount Meru adventure begins with an early morning drive from Arusha to the Momella Gate, the starting point for the climb. Upon arrival, complete registration and receive a brief orientation from your guide. Start your ascent through the lush montane forest, which is home to diverse flora and fauna. As you climb, the terrain will gradually open up into the moorland zone, offering stunning views and a chance to spot wildlife.
The primary goal of the day is to reach the Crater Rim. The hike will take you through the alpine zone, providing spectacular views of the mountain and surrounding landscape. As you gain altitude, the panoramic vistas become even more breathtaking. After reaching the Crater Rim and enjoying the views, begin your descent back to the Momella Gate. The return trek will offer a different perspective of the mountain and its diverse ecosystems.
Upon arrival at the Momella Gate, where your vehicle will be waiting, transfer back to Arusha. Reflect on the day’s adventure, savoring the memorable experiences and stunning scenery of Mount Meru.
