This 3-day Rwanda safari offers one of the most remarkable wildlife encounters in the world — trekking to see endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Located in the misty Virunga Mountains, Volcanoes National Park is home to several habituated gorilla families that visitors can track with experienced guides and rangers.
The safari begins in Kigali, one of Africa’s cleanest and safest cities, where travelers visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local markets to understand Rwanda’s history and culture. From there, the journey continues north to Volcanoes National Park, famous for its volcanic landscapes, lush bamboo forests, and rare primates.
The highlight of the safari is the gorilla trekking experience. After hiking through dense rainforest, visitors spend a magical hour observing the gorillas as they feed, play, and interact. The trip also includes a cultural visit to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to learn about traditional Rwandan life.
This short itinerary is perfect for travelers who want a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla experience within a limited time.
