Northward Bound via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Your wildlife adventure begins as we head north from Entebbe, leaving the Lake Victoria basin for the rugged beauty of northern Uganda. Our first major stop is the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in the country where you can track Southern White Rhinos on foot. After lunch, we continue into Murchison Falls National Park and visit the Top of the Falls, where the mighty Nile explodes through a narrow gorge. Morning: Depart Entebbe after breakfast and drive north through Uganda's lush countryside. The landscape transitions from urban settlements to rolling hills, sugarcane plantations, and traditional villages. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (approximately 2.5 hours from Entebbe). Embark on a guided walking safari with an armed ranger to track white rhinos on foot — an exhilarating and educational experience. Ziwa is home to over 30 rhinos and 300 bird species. Afternoon: Enjoy a delicious lunch at the sanctuary. Continue north for another 1.5 hours into Murchison Falls National Park. Head straight to the 'Top of the Falls', where the entire Nile River is compressed into a narrow 7-metre gorge before exploding over a 43-metre drop. The roar is deafening, and the permanent rainbow in the mist illustrates the sheer power of the world's longest river. Photography opportunity — bring a wide-angle lens for the full effect. Evening: Check in at your lodge inside Murchison Falls NP. Enjoy dinner under the African stars. Many lodges offer views over the Nile River. Packing tip: bring a warm layer as evenings near the river can be cool. Listen for the calls of hyenas and the distant grunt of hippos as you fall asleep.
Savannah Big Game & The Victoria Nile Boat Safari
We rise before dawn for an early morning game drive in the northern sector of the park, where the savannah teems with life. Under golden sunrise light, look for lions, leopards, and hyenas returning from nocturnal hunts. In the afternoon, board a boat for a three-hour safari up the Nile to the base of the falls — a spectacular wildlife parade from the water. Morning: Early morning tea or coffee at 6:00 AM, then depart for a 3-4 hour game drive across the northern bank of the Nile. Murchison is home to the world's largest population of Rothschild's giraffes, as well as thousands of elephants, Cape buffalos, Uganda kobs, and various antelopes. Search for lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas with your expert guide. Photography tip: morning golden light (7:00-9:00 AM) is ideal for wildlife photography. Afternoon: Return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest. At 2:00 PM, board a 2-3 hour boat cruise from the Paraa jetty to the base of Murchison Falls. This is a spectacular wildlife parade from the water: observe hundreds of wallowing hippos, massive Nile crocodiles basking on sandbanks, elephants and buffalo drinking at the water's edge, and prolific birdlife including the rare shoebill stork, African fish eagle, Goliath heron, and great white pelican. Evening: Return to the lodge for sundowner drinks overlooking the Nile River. Watch the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange and gold over the river. Dinner and overnight in Murchison Falls NP. Share your photographs and stories with fellow travellers around the campfire.
Morning at Leisure and Return Drive
Enjoy a final morning in the wilderness, perhaps listening to the exotic calls of savannah birds from your lodge balcony. After a leisurely breakfast, we begin our journey back south, taking a different route through the park to maximise wildlife viewing before exiting. Arrive in Entebbe or Kampala by early evening. Morning: Enjoy a final leisurely breakfast in the wilderness. Listen to the calls of exotic savannah birds from your lodge balcony as the morning mist lifts over the Nile. Optional: a short guided nature walk around the lodge grounds with a naturalist guide to spot birds, butterflies, and smaller wildlife species. Pack your bags and check out. Afternoon: Depart Murchison Falls NP, taking a different route through the park to maximise wildlife viewing opportunities. Stop for lunch en route at a scenic location. Continue the drive south through the fertile rural landscapes of central Uganda, passing traditional villages and rolling farmlands. Photo stop at the iconic views along the way. Evening: Arrive in Entebbe or Kampala by early evening (approximately 5:00-6:00 PM). Your guide will transfer you to the airport or your preferred location, concluding a focused and powerful 3-day exploration of Uganda's premier wildlife park. End of tour.

Best Time to Travel
Wildlife viewing is good year-round. The dry season (June-October) concentrates animals around water sources for easier sightings, and the Great Migration's river crossings peak July-October. Calving season in the southern Serengeti runs December-March.
