Day-by-Day Itinerary

Your trip, day by day

D1

Arrival & Transfer

Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where your driver-guide will meet you for the transfer to Arusha. Settle into your hotel, then join a pre-safari briefing covering the days ahead, the route, and what to expect on game drives. Overnight in Arusha.

D2

Tarangire Game Drive

Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, known for having one of the largest elephant populations in Tanzania and a landscape dotted with ancient baobab trees. Spend the morning and early afternoon on a game drive along the Tarangire River, where wildlife concentrates during the dry months, before continuing toward the Serengeti.

D3

Enter the Serengeti

Serengeti National Park

Depart for the Serengeti, driving up through the Ngorongoro Highlands with sweeping views over the crater rim and surrounding farmland. Game viewing continues en route as you cross into the Serengeti ecosystem, with a good chance of spotting plains game before reaching your camp in the late afternoon.

D4

Full-Day Migration Safari

Serengeti National Park

Spend the full day exploring the central and northern Serengeti plains, tracking the Great Migration herds of wildebeest and zebra. Your guide will follow recent sightings and migration patterns, with stops for photography and a picnic lunch out in the bush among some of Africa's most productive predator territory.

D5

Sunrise Game Drive

Serengeti National Park

Head out at first light for the best chance of catching predators — lion, cheetah and leopard are most active in the cool early hours. After the morning drive, return to camp for brunch and a relaxed afternoon, with an optional short game drive before sunset.

D6

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend roughly 600 meters into the crater floor for a full day of game viewing. The crater's self-contained ecosystem holds one of Africa's densest wildlife concentrations, including the Big Five, in a compact, dramatic volcanic caldera.

D7

Departure

Arusha

After a final morning at leisure or an optional short game drive, transfer back to Arusha or directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport in time for your onward or international departure flight.
