Serengeti National Park

Tanzania

Serengeti National Park is Tanzania's most famous safari destination: 14,763 km² of open plains, river valleys and rocky kopjes in the north of the country, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981. It is home to the Great Migration, in which around 1.5 million wildebeest, together with hundreds of thousands of zebra and gazelle, follow the rains in a year-round circuit.

Where you go depends on the season. From December to March the herds gather on the southern plains around Ndutu for the calving season. In May and June they move through the Western Corridor towards the Grumeti River, and from July to October the dramatic Mara River crossings take place in the north. Outside the migration the Serengeti still delivers: resident lion prides, leopards in the Seronera valley, cheetahs on the eastern plains, and elephants, giraffes and hippos throughout the year.

Most visitors combine the Serengeti with Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire on a northern-circuit safari starting from Arusha. Our safaris run in private 4x4 vehicles with pop-up roofs and a professional local driver-guide.
