What makes this trip special
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your trip, day by day
Day 1: From Arusha to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you are picked up in Arusha by your experienced safari guide. The drive takes you through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands and traditional Maasai villages, before the vast plains of the Serengeti open up before you. Along the way you'll already encounter wildlife, and the landscape gradually transforms into the endless grassland of the Serengeti. In the afternoon you take your first game drive, exploring the central Serengeti area, known for its high density of predators. Here you can see prides of lions, elephant herds, giraffes and huge groups of wildebeest and zebra. In the evening you reach your lodge or tented camp, where a delicious dinner and the sounds of the African wilderness await.
Day 2: Full Day Safari in the Serengeti
Early in the morning you set off on a sunrise game drive – the best time to see predators hunting and enjoy the golden morning sun over the savannah. After breakfast the safari continues through different regions of the Serengeti. Depending on the season, you may witness the world-famous wildebeest migration, as millions of wildebeest and zebra move across the plains in search of fresh grass. At midday you enjoy a picnic in the wilderness, then continue your exploration. In the afternoon you return to your camp, where you end the day with dinner under the African night sky. For something special, you can optionally take a hot-air balloon flight over the Serengeti (at extra cost). Overnight: Serengeti National Park
Day 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha
After breakfast you leave the Serengeti and head toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a final game drive. On arrival at the crater rim, a spectacular descent into the 600-meter-deep Ngorongoro Crater awaits – a true paradise for wildlife. Countless animals live on the crater floor, including lions, elephants, hippos, buffalo and, with luck, the rare black rhino. During a half-day game drive you explore this unique habitat, followed by a picnic at the idyllic Hippo Pool. In the afternoon you leave the crater and head back to Arusha, arriving in the early evening. This marks the end of your unforgettable three-day safari through two of Tanzania's most impressive national parks.
