Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your trip, day by day
Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park
Your adventure begins in Arusha, where you will meet your driver-guide and set out on a scenic drive toward Serengeti National Park. The route passes through the Ngorongoro Highlands and traditional Maasai villages, offering glimpses of Tanzania’s diverse landscapes and culture. Upon entering the Serengeti, you will be greeted by the endless golden plains that have become a symbol of African safaris. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on your first game drive, exploring the central Serengeti’s rich wildlife areas. Here, you may encounter herds of wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, elephants, and prides of lions resting under the acacia trees. As the day ends, enjoy dinner and relaxation at your lodge or tented camp, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the wilderness.
Day 2: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
The day begins with an early morning game drive, the best time to witness predators in action as the sun rises over the endless plains. After breakfast, continue your exploration of the park, following the rhythms of the wildlife. Depending on the season, you may witness part of the Great Migration — the world’s largest movement of animals — as millions of wildebeest and zebras traverse the Serengeti in search of fresh grazing. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the park and continue with an afternoon game drive across the open savannahs, where elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes roam freely. Later, return to your camp for dinner and relaxation under a starlit African sky. Those seeking a unique experience can opt for an early morning hot-air balloon safari (extra cost) to enjoy panoramic views of the Serengeti from above.
Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, depart Serengeti with a game drive en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater — an extraordinary natural wonder often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” The crater floor is home to an astonishing concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, hippos, flamingos, and the endangered black rhino. You’ll enjoy a half-day game drive within the crater, followed by a picnic lunch at the scenic Hippo Pool picnic site. As the afternoon unfolds, ascend from the crater and begin your return journey to Arusha, arriving in the early evening. This marks the end of your unforgettable three-day safari through Tanzania’s most celebrated parks.
