Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your trip, day by day
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast in Arusha you drive to Tarangire National Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Northern Tanzania. Here you experience a landscape full of mighty baobab trees, golden savannah and gently rolling hills. The Tarangire River attracts numerous animals, especially in the dry season, when elephants, zebras, wildebeest and buffalo come here to drink. During your first game drive you may even spot lions or leopards resting among the acacias. In the late afternoon you drive to your lodge or camp on the edge of the park and enjoy the sunset overlooking the endless savannah.
Day 2: Tarangire – Lake Natron
In the morning you set off toward Lake Natron – one of the most mysterious places in Africa. The drive passes through remote Maasai territory with spectacular views of the active volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai, the "Mountain of God." After arriving in the afternoon you explore the area around the lake with a local guide. The pink-hued soda lake is known for its huge flocks of flamingos and its almost otherworldly landscape. A short hike takes you to the Engare Sero waterfalls, where you can refresh yourself in the clear water. In the evening you enjoy the sunset over the lake – an unforgettable display of red, gold and blue.
Day 3: Lake Natron – Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast you drive along rough but spectacular tracks toward the Serengeti. The route offers wide views of volcanic landscapes and savannah before you reach the gateway to the Serengeti. In the afternoon your first game drive begins in the northeastern Serengeti. Here you can expect giraffes, elephants, antelope and, with luck, a cheetah on the hunt. Depending on the season you may also see parts of the Great Migration – a natural spectacle counted among the most impressive in the world.
Day 4: Full Day Safari in the Serengeti
Today is dedicated entirely to the Serengeti. Early in the morning you set off on an exciting game drive to see lions, hyenas and other predators in action. After breakfast at the lodge or a picnic in the wilderness, you explore more of the park – the wide plains, rocky kopjes and fertile river valleys. The Serengeti is spectacular at any time of year: during the migration, millions of animals move across the savannah, but even outside this period the park offers unique encounters with African wildlife. At sunset you return to camp, where you spend the evening around the campfire.
Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha
After breakfast you leave the Serengeti with a final game drive and continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After a short drive you reach the crater rim and enjoy the breathtaking view of the vast, green-shimmering crater floor. You descend into the crater, often called the "eighth wonder of the world." Here an incredible variety of wildlife awaits – lions, rhinos, elephants, buffalo, zebras, hippos and countless bird species. After an extensive game drive and a picnic at the Hippo Pool, you begin the drive back to Arusha in the afternoon. In the evening you arrive in the city — filled with experiences, impressions and unforgettable images.
