D1

Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Mkomazi National Park

Mkomazi National Park (e.g. Mkomazi Lodge or Rhino Camp)

Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Mkomazi National Park After arriving in Dar es Salaam you drive to remote Mkomazi National Park. Here wide, dry plains, acacia woodland and river valleys await, providing habitat for elephants, lions and rare rhinos. In the afternoon you take a first game drive and experience the peaceful wilderness away from the usual tourist trails.

Day 2: Mkomazi – Arusha National Park

Arusha area (e.g. Arusha Coffee Lodge or Mount Meru Lodge)

In the morning you set off for Arusha National Park, nestled at the foot of Mount Meru. In the afternoon you take a game drive through the varied landscape of forests, savannah and mountain lakes. The park is known for its giraffes, zebras, buffalo and the rare colobus monkeys.

Day 3: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara area (e.g. Manyara Serena Lodge or Eileens Trees Inn)

After breakfast you drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its huge flocks of flamingos and tree-climbing lions. On a game drive through the park you see elephants, buffalo, antelope and numerous bird species. The combination of lake, forest and savannah makes the park unique and offers many photo opportunities.

Day 4: Manyara – Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park (e.g. Serengeti Heritage Lodge or Into Wild Africa Camp)

After breakfast you head to the legendary Serengeti, world-famous home of the Great Migration. In the afternoon you take your first game drive and observe lions, leopards, elephants and huge herds of wildebeest and zebra. The sunset over the vast plain makes the day unforgettable.

Day 5: Full Day Safari in the Serengeti

Serengeti National Park

The whole day is available for extensive game drives in the Serengeti. Early in the morning you set off on a sunrise game drive, ideal for predator viewing. After breakfast you explore different regions, from river valleys to the famous kopjes, spotting elephants, buffalo, antelope and possibly cheetahs. A picnic in the wilderness rounds off the day.

D6

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha

Arusha

On the last day you drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. On the crater floor you experience an incredibly high density of wildlife: lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo and numerous bird species. After a game drive and a picnic at the Hippo Pool, the drive back to Arusha begins in the afternoon, where your "From Savannah to Volcanoes" safari ends — full of memories of Tanzania's wilderness and landscapes.

Best Time to Travel

Wildlife viewing is good year-round. The dry season (June-October) concentrates animals around water sources for easier sightings, and the Great Migration's river crossings peak July-October. Calving season in the southern Serengeti runs December-March.
