What makes this trip special
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your trip, day by day
Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Mikumi National Park
After arriving in Dar es Salaam you drive toward Mikumi National Park. Even the drive offers beautiful views of the African savannah. In the afternoon you take your first game drive through open plains, acacia woodland and hills. In Mikumi National Park you can see elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras and antelope. The park is less visited than the northern national parks, giving you an authentic wilderness feeling. In the evening you reach your lodge or camp and end the day with dinner under the African night sky.
Day 2: Mikumi – Ruaha National Park
After breakfast you continue to Ruaha National Park, Tanzania's largest national park in the south of the country. The drive takes a few hours, but the varied landscape of hills, rivers and bushland makes the journey an experience in itself. In the afternoon you take a first game drive through Ruaha. Here live lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo and a great variety of bird species. Ruaha is especially known for its wild predators and dense elephant population. In the evening you reach your lodge or camp and enjoy the tranquility of the African wilderness.
Day 3: Ruaha – Selous Game Reserve
In the morning you start with a game drive before continuing to Selous Game Reserve, one of Africa's largest wildlife reserves. The park is famous for its untouched wilderness, wide river landscapes and large herds of wildlife. After arrival you take an afternoon boat safari on the Rufiji River. On the water you can spot hippos, crocodiles and numerous birds, while elephants drink at the shore. A boat safari combines wildlife viewing with the tranquility of nature all at once.
Day 4: Selous – Saadani National Park
Today you continue to Saadani National Park, where the African wilderness meets the Indian Ocean coast. Saadani is unique in offering both wildlife and beautiful beaches. In the afternoon you take a game drive through the park and can spot elephants, buffalo, antelope and zebras. In the evening you enjoy the combination of safari and beach: a beach bonfire or a dinner overlooking the waves – a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.
Day 5: Saadani – Return to Dar es Salaam
On the last day you enjoy an early morning walk or a short game drive before starting your return journey to Dar es Salaam. Along the way you have the chance to take final photos of the coastal scenery and the African wilderness. In the evening your unique "From Savannah to Coast" safari ends – with unforgettable experiences from Tanzania's wild parks to the Indian Ocean.
