Nairobi to Masai Mara - The Great Migration
After an early breakfast, depart Nairobi for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve via the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Enjoy scenic stops at the viewpoint overlooking the valley floor. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, then embark on an exciting afternoon game drive across the Mara's golden savannah plains. Search for resident prides of lions, elusive leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and vast herds of wildebeest. During migration season (July-October), witness the dramatic Mara River crossings. Return to the lodge as the sun sets for dinner. Morning: Breakfast at 06:30. Depart Nairobi via the Great Rift Valley scenic route. Stop at escarpment viewpoint for photos. Afternoon: Arrive at lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive 15:30-18:00 exploring the Mara's rich wildlife corridors. Evening: Sundowners on the plains. Return to lodge for dinner. Night sky photography opportunity.
Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru - Flamingo Paradise
After an early breakfast and a final morning game drive in the Mara, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, a stunning soda lake in the Rift Valley. Arrive for a game drive along the lakeshore where thousands of greater and lesser flamingos create a spectacular pink carpet against the blue water. Lake Nakuru is also one of Kenya's most important rhino sanctuaries and the best place to see both black and white rhinos, along with lions, waterbucks, buffalos, and the elusive leopard. The park's acacia woodlands are home to extraordinary birdlife with over 450 species recorded. Morning: Early breakfast. Final game drive in the Mara en-route to Lake Nakuru via the Rift Valley scenic drive. Afternoon: Arrive at Lake Nakuru. Game drive along the lakeshore featuring thousands of flamingos and rhino tracking. Evening: Dinner at Lake Nakuru Lodge with stunning sunset views over the soda lake.
Lake Naivasha - Hippos & Birding Paradise
Drive to Lake Naivasha, a breathtaking freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley known for its calm waters and abundant wildlife. Enjoy a guided boat safari where pods of hippos surface alongside your boat and African fish eagles soar overhead. Visit Crescent Island for a unique guided walking safari — the only place in Kenya where you can walk among zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, and numerous antelope species without predator risk. The lake is a birding paradise with over 400 species including African fish eagles, Goliath herons, pied kingfishers, and cormorants. In the afternoon, visit Hell's Gate National Park for cycling through towering geothermal cliffs. Morning: Breakfast at Lake Nakuru. Scenic drive to Lake Naivasha. Boat safari observing hippos, fish eagles, and water birds. Afternoon: Crescent Island walking safari. Lunch at lakeside lodge. Afternoon visit to Hell's Gate National Park for cycling. Evening: Sundowner boat cruise on Lake Naivasha. Dinner at lakeside resort.
Final Game Drive & Return to Nairobi
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lakeside lodge with views over Lake Naivasha. Take a final morning nature walk along the lake shore for last glimpses of hippos and water birds. Pack up and begin the scenic drive back to Nairobi through the Great Rift Valley, arriving in the early afternoon. Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure, filled with unforgettable memories of your incredible Kenya safari experience. Morning: Breakfast at lodge. Final nature walk along Lake Naivasha. Pack and check-out. Afternoon: Scenic drive to Nairobi (arrive ~13:00). Lunch at a Nairobi restaurant. Evening: Transfer to JKIA for departure flight. Best Time to Travel
Wildlife viewing is good year-round. The dry season (June-October) concentrates animals around water sources for easier sightings, and the Great Migration's river crossings peak July-October. Calving season in the southern Serengeti runs December-March.
