Welcome to the Pearl of Africa — Arrival in Entebbe
Your grand 15-day Ugandan expedition begins as you touch down at Entebbe International Airport, situated on a lush peninsula of Lake Victoria. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by our professional safari guide. A short transfer takes you to your boutique hotel. Morning: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport (EBB). Clear immigration and collect your luggage. Your professional driver-guide will be waiting outside the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. Afternoon: Transfer to your boutique hotel (30-60 min). Depending on arrival time, enjoy a tranquil stroll along the shores of Lake Victoria. Watch the fishermen in their traditional canoes. Evening: Dinner at the hotel followed by a detailed briefing on the extraordinary adventure ahead. Your guide will check your trekking gear.
The Journey North to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After a hearty Ugandan breakfast, we drive north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a vital conservation project. You'll track white rhinos on foot with an armed ranger — a thrilling and educational wildlife encounter. Morning: Drive north through the historic Luwero Triangle, passing vibrant rural markets and vast fruit stalls. The landscape transitions from urban Kampala to rolling countryside. Afternoon: At Ziwa, embark on a guided walking safari to track white rhinos on foot — the only place in Uganda where you can do this. See over 300 bird species and learn about anti-poaching efforts. Evening: Continue to Murchison Falls area or relax at the sanctuary ranch. Dinner and overnight surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.
Into the Heart of Murchison Falls National Park
We continue to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's oldest and largest protected area. Visit the 'Top of the Falls' where the entire Victoria Nile is forced through a 7-metre gorge, plunging 43 metres into the 'Devil's Cauldron'. Morning: Continue north to Murchison Falls NP. The landscape shifts from wooded savannah to open plains as we cross the Nile. Check into your lodge. Afternoon: Visit the Top of the Falls. The ground vibrates beneath your feet as rainbows dance in the permanent mist. A sensory explosion illustrating the raw power of nature. Evening: Check into your lodge overlooking the Nile. Watch elephants graze on the opposite bank at sunset. Dinner and overnight.
Savannah Predators & The Nile Boat Safari
Rise before dawn for a morning game drive in the northern sector to spot leopard and lion. In the afternoon, board a boat safari up the Nile to the base of the falls. Hippos, crocodiles, elephants and prolific birdlife line the banks. Morning: Early morning game drive across the northern bank of the Nile. Search for elephants, Rothschild's giraffes, lions, buffalo, and the elusive leopard with your expert guide. Afternoon: Lunch and rest at the lodge. Board a 3-hour boat safari up the Nile. Pass massive hippo pods, giant crocodiles, and elephants cooling off in the water. The view of the falls from the boat is iconic. Evening: Sundowner drinks at the lodge terrace overlooking the Nile. Watch the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange and gold. Dinner and overnight.
Traversing the Albertine Rift to Kibale Forest
Today offers incredible scenic diversity as we drive south through the western arm of the Great Rift Valley. Pass viewpoints over Lake Albert, the 'Garden City' of Fort Portal, and lush rolling tea plantations. Morning: Depart south through western Uganda. The road offers spectacular views over Lake Albert and the distant Blue Mountains of the Congo. Afternoon: Stop at Fort Portal, nestled below the Rwenzori Mountains. Drive through emerald-green tea plantations stretching across rolling hills. Evening: Arrive at Kibale National Park. The air becomes cooler with the scents of the evergreen rainforest. Dinner and overnight.
Primate Encounter — Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale
Kibale is the 'Primate Capital of the World'. Enter the dense primeval forest in search of habituated chimpanzees. Spend an hour observing our closest biological relatives foraging, playing, and socialising in the high canopy. Morning: Early breakfast at 6:00 AM. Head to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing. Enter the forest in search of chimpanzees. The sound of their 'pant-hoots' echoing through the canopy is unforgettable. Afternoon: Return to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon at leisure or nature walk to see 12 other primate species including the rare L'Hoest's monkey and Red Colobus. Evening: Relax at the lodge listening to the exotic calls of the Blue Turaco from the veranda. Dinner and overnight.
Morning at Leisure & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
We spend a slow morning at the lodge or take a guided community walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. After lunch, drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving for an evening game drive through the crater lakes region. Morning: Slow morning at the lodge or guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. A biodiversity hotspot home to monkeys, butterflies, and the great blue turaco. Afternoon: Drive south towards Queen Elizabeth NP, crossing the Equator into the rift valley plains. The transition offers stunning vistas of the western Rift Valley. Evening: Evening game drive through the crater lakes region. Dormant volcanic craters have become beautiful lake-filled basins visited by flamingos at dusk. Dinner and overnight.
Kasenyi Plains & The Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Morning game drive on Kasenyi plains, the primary hunting ground for lion prides. Afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga Channel — a 32 km waterway with the highest hippo concentration in the world. Morning: Early morning game drive along the Kasenyi Track. Track lions with your expert guide. Spot leopards, hyenas, and herds of Uganda kobs across the golden plains. Afternoon: Lunch at the lodge. Board a 2-hour boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. Watch elephants and buffalos come to the water's edge. Over 5,000 hippos and hundreds of bird species. Evening: Return to the lodge for dinner. Optional night game drive to spot leopards, porcupines, and the elusive pangolin. Overnight.
The Legend of the Tree-Climbing Lions in Ishasha
We head to the remote Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, famous for its unique tree-climbing lions that lounge in sycamore and fig trees. A surreal and rare sight found in few places on Earth. Morning: Early breakfast. Depart for Ishasha sector (2 hours south). Game drive in search of the famous tree-climbing lions lounging in fig trees. Afternoon: Picnic lunch overlooking the savannah. Continue south through the stunning Kigezi Highlands towards Bwindi. Evening: Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi. Fall asleep to the sound of lions roaring in the distance. Dinner and overnight.
Ascending to the Misty Heights of Bwindi Forest
We ascend into the Kigezi Highlands to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest rainforests on Earth. A place of deep mists and ancient shadows. Morning: Breakfast and departure for the Kigezi Highlands. The road winds through steep, terraced hillsides growing potatoes and bananas. Afternoon: Arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Check into your lodge with panoramic views of the forest canopy. Enjoy the cool mountain air. Evening: Quiet evening by the fireplace. Comprehensive briefing from your guide about the gorilla trekking experience tomorrow. Dinner and early bedtime.
The Ultimate Experience — Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
The day you traveled across the world for. After an early briefing, venture into the thick rainforest with expert rangers. When you come face-to-face with a family of mountain gorillas, time stands still. One profound hour observing these gentle giants. Morning: Early breakfast at 5:30 AM. Transfer to park headquarters for a vital briefing. Assigned to a gorilla family, enter the forest with rangers and trackers. The trek can be physically demanding through steep, muddy terrain. Afternoon: Spend one unforgettable hour with the gorillas. Watch silverbacks presiding over families, mothers nursing infants, and juveniles playing. Trek back to the trailhead. Evening: Return to the lodge to celebrate. Receive a gorilla trekking certificate. Enjoy a celebratory dinner sharing stories. Overnight in Bwindi.
Descending to the 'Place of Many Little Birds' — Lake Bunyonyi
After the gorilla trek, we drive to Lake Bunyonyi for serene relaxation. The second deepest lake in Africa, breathtakingly beautiful with 29 emerald islands scattered across its blue waters. Morning: Leisurely breakfast at the lodge. Check out and depart for Lake Bunyonyi, winding down through the terraced Kigezi Highlands. Afternoon: Arrive at Lake Bunyonyi and check into your lakeside resort. The rest of the day is yours to relax, swim in the bilharzia-free waters, or simply enjoy the stunning view. Evening: Peaceful evening on the banks of the lake. Dinner at the resort reflecting on the incredible wildlife encounters. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi.
Island Canoeing & Cultural Immersion
Explore the magic of Lake Bunyonyi by traditional dugout canoe. Each island has a story. Visit a local school and gain deeper understanding of the Bakiga and Batwa people. Morning: Breakfast at the resort. Board a traditional dugout canoe to explore the various islands. Learn about 'Punishment Island' and other local legends. Afternoon: Stop to visit a local school or health centre for authentic community interaction. Gain insight into the Bakiga and Batwa way of life. Evening: Return to the resort. Optional nature walk for birdwatching. Dinner and overnight.
Lake Mburo — The Jewel of the Savannah
Journey to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda's smallest savannah park rich in unique wildlife. The only place in southern Uganda to see Impala and Burchell's zebra. Afternoon boat cruise on the lake. Morning: Breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi. Depart for Lake Mburo National Park. The landscape transitions from highland terraces to acacia-studded savannah. Afternoon: Arrive at Lake Mburo NP. Afternoon boat cruise encountering hippos, crocodiles, and the African Fin-foot. Spot Eland antelope and zebras on the drive back. Evening: Check into your lodge overlooking the lake. The intimate landscape provides a beautiful conclusion to our wildlife viewing. Dinner and overnight.
Morning Game Walk & Return to Entebbe
On our final day, experience the savannah on foot with an armed ranger. Walk among zebras, kobs, and giraffes without the barrier of a vehicle. Then begin the final drive back to Entebbe with an Equator stop. Morning: Final morning - nature walk with an armed ranger. Walk among zebras, kobs, and giraffes. An exhilarating experience that heightens all your senses. Afternoon: Begin the final drive back to Entebbe. Stop at the Equator for souvenir shopping and a farewell lunch. Pass through the sprawling suburbs of Kampala. Evening: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. Your epic 15-day journey concludes. End of tour.

Best Time to Travel
The clearest, driest climbing conditions fall in two windows: late June through October, and January to mid-March. Kilimanjaro can be climbed year-round, but the short and long rains (November, and April-May) bring wetter trails and lower summit visibility.
