Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your trip, day by day
Day 1: Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut (1,860m – 2,700m)
The tour begins at Marangu Gate with registration and briefing. You hike through dense rainforest to Mandara Hut. The walk takes 4–5 hours.
Day 2: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut (2,700m – 3,720m)
The climb leads through alpine heath and open landscapes. The walk takes 5–6 hours and ends at Horombo Hut, where you prepare for acclimatization.
Day 3: Acclimatization Day – Horombo Hut
An important day for acclimatization. You hike to nearby viewpoints, enjoy the alpine landscape, and prepare for the summit climb.
Day 4: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut (3,720m – 4,700m)
Climb to Kibo Hut, the base camp for summit night. The route takes 5–6 hours through rocky, alpine landscapes. At Kibo Hut you rest and fuel up for the summit.
Day 5: Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Hut (4,700m – 5,895m – 3,720m)
The night hike begins around midnight. You reach Uhuru Peak and experience the spectacular sunrise over Africa. After the summit you descend back to Horombo Hut.
Day 6: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Tarangire National Park
After returning to Marangu Gate, you drive to Arusha and on to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees.
Day 7: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Morning game drive in Tarangire, then drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Watch flamingos, buffalo and other wildlife. Continue on to the Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater
Full-day safari in the Ngorongoro Crater. You experience a high density of wildlife, including lions, rhinos and leopards.
Day 9: Ngorongoro – Serengeti National Park
Drive to the Serengeti, with photo stops along the way. In the afternoon, safari in the park and viewing of the Big Five and endless savannah landscapes.
Day 10: Serengeti – Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport
Final morning safari in the Serengeti, followed by transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.

Best Time to Travel
The clearest, driest climbing conditions fall in two windows: late June through October, and January to mid-March. Kilimanjaro can be climbed year-round, but the short and long rains (November, and April-May) bring wetter trails and lower summit visibility.
Mountain huts (dormitory-style, shared) + safari lodges and tented camps
