Nairobi Arrival & Safari Preparation
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by your driver-guide and transferred to your luxury lodge or hotel. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a safari briefing covering game drive strategies, wildlife behaviour, and park information. Overnight at your Nairobi lodge. Morning: Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). Clear immigration and collect your luggage. Your professional driver-guide will be waiting outside the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, sits at 1,795 metres above sea level and is the only capital city in the world with a national park on its doorstep. Afternoon: Transfer to your luxury lodge or hotel in Nairobi (30-60 minutes from the airport). Depending on arrival time, you can explore Nairobi National Park, visit the Karen Blixen Museum, the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, or the Giraffe Centre. Alternatively, relax at your lodge and prepare for the adventure ahead. Evening: Comprehensive safari briefing from your lead guide, covering game drive strategies, wildlife photography tips, and park information. Enjoy a welcome dinner featuring Kenyan cuisine and an early rest - your safari begins at sunrise.
Lake Nakuru Safari & Wildlife Exploration
After breakfast, drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy comprehensive game drives through this spectacular wildlife area, searching for flamingos, rhinos, lions, giraffes, buffalo, and the unique bird species that inhabit this remarkable ecosystem. Overnight at your lodge near Lake Nakuru. Morning: Early breakfast at your Nairobi lodge followed by a scenic 3-hour drive through the Great Rift Valley. The route offers dramatic viewpoints over the escarpment - one of Africa's most spectacular geological features. Stop at the viewpoints for photos of the valley floor stretching into the distance. The Great Rift Valley runs 6,000 km from Lebanon to Mozambique, and this section in Kenya offers the most dramatic scenery. Afternoon: Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park for comprehensive afternoon game drives. Lake Nakuru is famous for its thousands of flamingos that paint the lake pink, its rhino sanctuary (both black and white rhinos), and diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, giraffes, buffalo, waterbuck, and over 400 bird species. The lake is a UNESCO Ramsar site and part of the Kenya Lake System. Evening: Check in at your lodge near Lake Nakuru. Sundowner drinks with views over the Rift Valley escarpment. Dinner and overnight at your lodge. Photography tip: late afternoon light over the lake provides spectacular conditions for bird and wildlife photography.
Masai Mara Safari & Wildlife Exploration
Today takes you to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy comprehensive game drives through spectacular savannah grasslands. Your expert guide will navigate the most productive wildlife corridors in search of all Big Five species, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, and the unique bird species that inhabit this remarkable ecosystem. Overnight at your Mara lodge. Morning: Early breakfast at the lodge, then depart for the Masai Mara via the scenic route through Narok town. The 4-hour drive passes through Maasai territory, offering glimpses of traditional manyattas and cattle herders. The landscape transitions from Rift Valley escarpments to the rolling savannah plains of the Mara. Stop at the Mara entrance gate for photos and check-in. Afternoon: Arrive at the Masai Mara National Reserve (1,510 sq km). Enjoy an afternoon game drive immediately upon arrival, searching for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and hippos. The Mara is famous for having Africa's highest density of big cats. During July to October, witness the Great Wildebeest Migration - over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles crossing from the Serengeti. Evening: Check in at your luxury lodge deep in the Mara. Sundowner drinks overlooking the endless savannah plains. Dinner under the African stars. Night game drives (optional) are available at select lodges for spotting nocturnal wildlife.
Final Game Drive & Return to Nairobi
Rise early for a spectacular final game drive in the magnificent Masai Mara, capturing the extraordinary morning light and wildlife activity. Enjoy a farewell bush breakfast before packing up and making the comfortable drive back to Nairobi for your international departure or onward connections. Morning: Early morning game drive at 6:00 AM - the best time for predator sightings. Watch the sunrise over the Mara plains, with the golden light illuminating wildlife against the savannah. Search for any remaining Big Five species you haven't yet spotted. Photography tip: the morning golden hour (6:30-8:30 AM) produces spectacular images of wildlife against warm-lit landscapes. Afternoon: Enjoy a farewell bush breakfast in the Mara, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. After breakfast, depart for Nairobi with a stop in Narok town for souvenirs and crafts. Continue through the Great Rift Valley to Nairobi. Lunch en route at a scenic rest stop. Evening: Arrive in Nairobi (approximately 5:00-6:00 PM). Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight or onward connections. End of tour. We recommend booking flights departing after 8:00 PM to allow ample time for the drive.

Best Time to Travel
Wildlife viewing is good year-round. The dry season (June-October) concentrates animals around water sources for easier sightings, and the Great Migration's river crossings peak July-October. Calving season in the southern Serengeti runs December-March.
